Being admitted to the MA MIddle Eastern Studies.

Description

The research methods class will provide a focused environment for a first grounding in the specific methodological and disciplinary approach.

Course objectives

  • Understanding of research methods associated with one discipline or set of related disciplines
    The course offers an introduction to seven different methodological approaches, each with its own course code:
    Research Methods: Statistics (5174VAS01W)
    Research Methods: Philology and Text (5174VAS02W)
    Research Methods: Discourse Analysis (5174VAS03W)
    Research Methods: Interviews (5174VAS04W)
    Research Methods: Questionnaires (5174VAS05W)
    Research Methods: Audiovisual Materials (5174VAS06W)
    Research Methods: Material Objects (5174VAS07W)
    Research Methods: Arts and Material Objects (5174VAS08W)
    Students are supposed to succesfully finish three of these partial courses to get the 3 EC credits.
