The course Biological Data Sharing and Integration will give an overview of important algorithms, tools and methods for the integration of the vast amounts of available biological (research) data. We start with an overview of the diverse biological data sets and the importance of integration for the search on new knowledge and insights of biological processes. The amounts and complexity of biological data poses novel challenges for presenting and publishing research. Tools such as GALAXY and TAVERNA will be presented and used. Finally novel tools for organizing and searching the semantics of the data will be discussed.
- Obtain knowledge on the challenges and solutions for Biological Data Sharing and Integration.
- Obtain (practical) knowledge on important tools for biological data processing pipelines such as GALAXY and TAVERNA.
- Be able to understand and evaluate novel solutions for Biological Data Sharing and Integration as presented in research literature.
