Admission requirements

Basic knowledge of International Law and a sufficient command of English.

Description

The course on Aerospace Law deals with multilateral and bilateral aviation agreements, airline liability, EU air law and criminal air law as well as space law, covering the legal aspects of various space activities, both private and public.

Course objectives

Objectives of the course:

  • To provide an overview of the main legal instruments and issues in the fields of public air law, private air law and space law;

  • To provide an general overview on the regulation of international civil aviation;

  • To explain the principles of airline liability

  • To provide an overview of legal issues in relation to space activities and the use of outer space for outer space

Achievement levels:
After this course students

  • have a good understanding the principle international legal instruments in these fields and are able to explain their applicability.

  • mention and explain current legal issues pertaining to air law and space law

Lectures

  • Number of (2 hour) lectures: One 2-hour class per week for 10 weeks
