Participate in the entrance exam consisting of a motivation interview with the teacher and an assessment of your artistic work; Assignment Entrance Exam Photography 2. The entrance exam for Photography 2 is on 30 January 2019.

Assignments Entrance Exam Photography 2:
Give insight in your personal interests:
1. Choose a topic that you consider interesting, exciting or important and produce a series of photos that gives insight in your personal imagination and fantasy on this topic.
2. Take with you ± 10 images (photographs, drawings, film-stills, …) created by others on this topic.
It does not matter whether you use an analogue or a digital camera. However, your photographs should be printed out and be at least 13 × 18 cm in size. The quality of the print is not important.
Description
This course is an introductory course which will focus on the examination of expressive and applicatory possibilities of photographic means. Concepts that will be explored are image, reality, foreground and background, space, zoom, sharpness, depth, shutter speed, light, lighting, moment, and aperture.
Course objectives
The objective of this course is to bring students into contact with various fields of photography. The course is structured around a number of individual assignments that allow students to try out different directions in photography, letting them to discover their own interests and to continue developing. Class meetings capitalise on the fact that students participating have a broad range of disciplines and view photography from the perspective of their own background.
The assignments will focus on the study of images and creating personal works in the context of contemporary photography. Students will work from the perspective of their own area of study, finalizing the course with a visual essay.
The assignments are focused on individual artistic development. At the end of the course, students will be able to produce and reflect on photographic works independently. Be able to put their personal work in context of contemporary photography.
The course is open to both students who have and haven’t followed Photography 01.

Lessons: Wednessday from 18.30 – 21.00 hrs.
Period: 6 February until 5 June 2019
Location: The Royal Academy of Art (KABK), Prinsessegracht 4, 2514 AN The Hague.
