No requirements, although some knowledge of historical grammar of Germanic is recommended.

Description

Introduction to Old Norse grammar and syntax with the help of Old Norse Texts from E. V. Gordon, Introduction to Old Norse, Oxford.

Course objectives

At the end of the course the students should be able to read and understand Old Norse prose texts (saga’s).

Assessment method

Written examination (translation, open questions)

Students who fail the course may resit the exam.
