Having completed the first year of a BA and having attained an intermediate level of Moroccan Arabic.
Description
The aim of this course is to improve the level of Moroccan Arabic (darija), the spoken dialect of Morocco, of intermediate speakers. In order to achieve this, students will give presentations, engage in dialogues, participate in discussions. This course makes use of audiovisual materials which help students improve their listening skills and should provide students with ideas for their own presentations.
Course objectives
Students are expected to be able to express themselves with more confidence and take part in conversations on topics that are more complicated than topics on everyday life such as education, culture, history, and politics.

Course Load
The total course load is 140 hours (5 EC), allocated as follows:
Tutorial attendance: 8 x 4 = 32 hours
Preparation of tutorials and assignments, and test preparation: 107 hours
Quizzes and tests: 1 hours
Assessment method
Classroom participation: 40%
Quizzes and assignments: 20%
Final test: 40%
Quizzes and tests mainly consist of speaking and listening exercises.
Weighing
The final mark for the course is established by determining the weighed average.
Resit
If the final grade is 5 or less students may take a resit once (100%).
Exam Review
If a student requests a review within 30 days after publication of the exam results, an exam review will be organized.
Blackboard
Blackboard will be used for reading and study materials.
