Language Acquisition Persian 2.
This course runs parallel with Media Persian, both courses must be taken simultaneously.
This course is a continuation of Language Acquisition Persian 1 and 2 with an emphasis on the grammar of Persian. In this course we will further discuss the form and the theory of the syntax of Persian. The vocabulary will be expanded through exercises and translation exercises.
Acquiring a thorough understanding of the principles of Persian grammar and building a comprehensive vocabulary. On this basis, at the end of this course, students will be able to read, analyse and translate texts in written standard Persian. The spoken and written Persian is further discussed in the courses Language Acquisition Persian 4 and Media Persian which are also taught in the second semester.
Mode of instruction
Seminar Attendance and active participation are obligatory for seminars. Students are required to prepare for and attend all sessions. The convenors need to be informed without delay of any classes missed for a good reason (i.e. due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness, family issues, problems with residence permits, the Dutch railways in winter, etc.). In these cases it is up to the discretion of the convener of the course whether or not the missed class will have to be made up with an extra assignment. The maximum of such absences during a semester is two. Being absent without notification and/or more than two times can result in exclusion from the term end exams and a failing grade for the course.

|Exam||The examination is in written format and consists of a theoretical part and a practical part. In the theoretical part, questions are asked about grammatical concepts; the practical part deals with questions related to the grammatical analysis of the discussed topics in tutorials. The practical part of the exam also consists of unseen translation texts from and into Persian. | 100%|

If a student requests a review within 30 days after publication of the exam results, an exam review will be organized.
