Description
This seminar focuses on the architecture and role that business information systems play in large-scale enterprises. During the seminar, students prepare various presentations based on company visits. Students work in teams to develop a research project for topics that these companies provide. The results of this research is provided to the companies, and presented to them in a formal presentation.
Course objectives
Students will gain:
An understanding of the architecture and functionality of business information systems.
A first-hand insight into the role that enterprise software systems play in large organisations.
An understanding of some of the challenges that organisations face in deploying, maintaining, and evolving mixed architecture software systems.
Experience in writing and presenting a research document in a business oriented environment.

Mode of instruction
Weekly seminars of 2 hours, team-based project work, and company visits are part of the course.
