Description

Philosophy of Linguistics deals with questions that are considered by philosophers to belong to linguistics, and by linguists to belong to philosophy. It deals with such questions as what the meaning is of demonstratives, what the role is of the first person in assertions and whether semantics of mood can be given independently of the pragmatic notion of force. Philosophy of linguistics deals with linguistic problems that are essentially related to topics in epistemology, the philosophy of mind, and the philosophy of language.
