This course is intended for MSc students in the MSc specializations offered by the Institute of Biology with experience in genetics, molecular biology and microbiology.

Description
Lecture series about some of the most field-changing techniques in genetics and molecular biology, which have shaped the biotechnology sector. Lectures will be given by academic and industrial players active in the biotechnology field.
Learning goals
Course objectives:
Students will learn modern, state-of-the-art methodologies used in the field of biotechnology, with a special focus on genetics
Students will be able to implement state-of-the-art methodologies to find solutions for biotechnology-related problems
Final qualifications:
Students will be able to apply the acquired knowledge for tackling biotechnology-related problems

On Tuesdays from 29 November 2021 until 18 February 2022.

Mode of instruction
Lectures, self-study of papers.
Assessment method
Written exam based on the lectures and a selection of key papers on topics discussed during the lectures.
Exam: minimum 5.6
Inspection and feedback on the examination
Date: March 2022; a date will be set in consultation with the students
