Successful completion of the Persian writing course in the week before the start of the semester.
Description
This course starts with an introduction to the Persian language and culture. Students are introduced to the script, phonology, morphology and syntax of the Persian language, and will learn the accompanying terminology. The course is taught with reference to a number of Persian grammar books and accompanying exercises. The exercises are prepared by the students in advance of each class and are the primary means through which the grammar is brought into practice during class. There are three two-hour classes each week. The course requires active preparation and participation. Attendance of the classes is compulsory. Cultural aspects of Iranian society are introduced through texts and students will aquire basic knowledge of Iranian culture. At the end of the course students will have an overview of the basics of the grammatical system of the Persian language and culture, and are able to translate and analyse simple Persian texts.

Resit
There is no resit for the presentation. There is a resit exam for the midterm and the final, which will count for 80%.
Inspection and feedback
If a student requests a review within 30 days after publication of the exam results, an exam review will be organized.
