Tibetan 1 and 2 and 3 (or comparable knowledge of classical Tibetan).
Description
This course introduces students to different forms and styles of Tibetan literature. The selected texts are introduced at the first meeting and vary from year to year. We meet twice a week to read original Tibetan texts and discuss issues of grammar, syntax, translation and interpretation. The course requires active preparation and participation.

Enhance the students’ understanding of Tibetan literature
Improve reading and translation skills
Increase the students’ range of Tibetan vocabulary
Expand the students’ knowledge of Tibetan Buddhist culture

Seminar (2 × 2 hours).
Assessment method
Participation to text translation in class (100%).
How and when an exam review takes place will be determined by the examiner. This review will be within 30 days after official publication of exam results.
