Master students of Clinical Neuropsychology, participating or having participated in the Master course ‘Adult and Old-Age Clinical Neuropsychology: Theory and assessment’
Description
This course provides a practical training in clinical neuropsychological assessment, diagnostic work-up and writing a clinical report of cognitive, emotional and/or behavioural consequences as result of (possible) neurological or psychiatric disease in adult and elderly patients. All instructors are clinical neuropsychologists working in the (academic) health service.
The course involves 7 seminars (3 hrs) addressing the following content domains:

Observations, history taking and conclusion
Memory & dementia screening
Executive functioning & language
Attention, gnosis, praxis, academic skills & malingering
Intelligence
Neuropsychiatric functioning & personality
Clinical case extended
Additionally, during the seminars we will discuss cases concerning a broad spectrum of neuropsychological disfunctions (e.g. neuropsychological profiles of Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease, CADASIL, Whiplash, depression, etc.). Students will be evaluated on different aspects of the diagnostic process (e.g. history taking, observations, interpreting test results, writing a conclusion, etc.).

Students need to enroll for lectures and work group sessions. Please consult the Instructions registration
Examination
Students are not automatically enrolled for an examination. They can register via uSis from 100 to 10 calendar days before the date; students who are not registered will not be permitted to take the examination. Registering for exams
Mode of instruction
Experiential training with practical videos, case demonstrations and practical training in neuropsychological assessment. Attendance to all meetings is obligatory.
