Masterlanguage
Classics students can attend courses that are offered by Masterlanguage - a curriculum of courses offered annually to MA students for several languages (among others, classical Greek and Latin).
Epigraphy courses
For Classics the courses concern Greek and Latin Epigraphy. The Epigraphy courses are offered by various universities and OIKOS, the National Research School in Classical Studies; the Epigraphy courses on location are organised by the Netherlands Institute in Athens (NIA) and Rome (KNIR).

Leerdoelen Griekse epigrafie II: Epigrafie op locatie in Athene
De student maakt kennis met de Griekse epigrafie op locatie in Athene. De cursus is gericht op het verwerven van praktische, didactische, en onderzoeksvaardigheden op epigrafisch gebied in het kader van eigen MA- en PhD-onderzoek. De cursus bereidt ook voor op het gebruik van inscripties in het voortgezet onderwijs (in het kader van de educatieve master). Ter voorbereiding worden de belangrijkste epigrafische genres behandeld en bestudeerd binnen hun talige en cultuur-historische context.
De cursus ter plaatse bestaat uit dagelijkse colleges (deels in situ a.d.h.v. epigrafische wandelingen en museumbezoek). In het kader van deze colleges verrichten de deelnemers enkele (groeps)opdrachten die ter plekke worden gepresenteerd. Daarnaast verzorgt elke student individueel een kritische uitgave van een inscriptie, incl. lemma en commentaar (van talige, literaire of historische aard) en houden een presentatie n.a.v. hun onderzoeksopdracht.
