Content:
This course concentrates on processes of democratization, consolidation and democratic erosion. We will pay attention to core theories and concepts, global historical patterns, hybrid regimes, and case studies of democratic consolidation as well as democratic backsliding.
Course Objectives:
Objective 1. To enhance familiarity with the concepts, debates and case studies on democratic consolidation and erosion.
Objective 2. To increase empirical knowledge and develop analytical skills in academic writing and reporting.
