Description
This course focuses on the grammar, specifically the syntax of Russian. Because of its structure (rich morphology, case system, free word order) Russian has a syntactic structure which is different from European languages such as English or French. As such, it is a very interesting language for those who are interested in syntax.
This course provides an introduction into Russian syntax which deals with various syntactic phenomena and constructions in Russian. The main focus will be on the study of various constructions in Russian, including the semantics of these constructions, and the relation between syntax and semantics.
