Admission requirements
This course is only available for students in the BA International Studies programme who have passed Spanish 1 Beginners and Spanish 2 Pre-Intermediate.
Description
This is a language course for intermediate students, and has a communicative approach. Attention will be paid to the use of the language in practical everyday situations.
The focus will be on reading and listening comprehension (‘Reception activities’ (CEFR). There will be plenty of opportunities to interact in the target language through class activities and discussions. Students will be encouraged to practise reading and writing skills in their own time.
For this purpose, we will use a comprehensive intermediate-level method: Aula Internacional Plus 3. The book is well structured and clearly laid out in different sections, with a task-based approach.
This course is taught entirely in Spanish.
Course objectives
This course enables the student to achieve a level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for the passive skills (Reading and Listening) and a level A2+ for the more active skills (Writing and Speaking).
Spanish 3 Intermediate is the last course in a series of three language acquisition courses within the International Studies program. The final objective of this course series is to obtain an intermediate level of proficiency in Spanish, aimed at communication with people in the region in everyday social situations and enabling students to follow current affairs in the region via various media.
