Histories We Play

Course
2024-2025

Admission requirements

Description

The aim of Histories we Play is to introduce, expand upon, and innovate with play and storytelling for archaeological research and communication of knowledge about the past to a wider audience.
Sciences that focus on the study of the past could be described as narrative driven fields. We tell stories about the past, about the people that came before whether they lived in the distant prehistory thousands of years ago, or merely 100 years ago, in the beginnings of the 20th century.

In this seminar we will focus on the study and production of playful narratives about the past. This course will create the possibility to learn about the past in a new, fun way, and open up the possibility to actively contribute to the dissemination of archaeological narratives.

Every class will comprise of a content focused half and an activity focused half. At the end of every activity the group will get back together to discuss the outcomes of each activity.
