Students must pass Production 2a to participate in Production 2c.
This course follows the Production 2b course in block 3.
Description
The primary goal of this course is to improve communication skills further so that students can conduct practical conversations and listening skills to pick up various types of information. To achieve this goal, students will also learn grammar, vocabulary, and kanji at the intermediate and pre-advanced levels, which is also vital to continue their studies at the advanced level. This course will cover some selected chapters and materials in the Tobira textbook.
At the end of the course, students will be expected to perform sufficiently in speaking and listening skills at a basic level of proficiency, which is equivalent to B2- of the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR).
Course objectives
By the end of this course, students are expected to be able to do the following objectives. ・Write a formal e-mail in Japanese with an appropriate format and speech level--> Written Communication ・Conduct an interview in Japanese with honorific language and ask spontaneous follow-up questions to get details --> Written Communication ・Summarize an interview and write an essay in Japanese with explicit and purposeful content using ample examples to support your central idea--> Written Communication ・Tell a story with a range of appropriate vocabulary and cohesive connective devices --> Oral Communication ・Communicate spontaneously even if the topic is either unfamiliar or abstract --> Oral Communication ・Read and produce kanji and vocabulary covered at the pre-avdanced level →Writren Communication, Oral Communication

Weighing
The final mark for the course is established by determining the weighted average.
To pass the course, you must meet the following two requirements.
1) The weighted average of all elements must be 5.5 or higher
2) The average grade for kanji quizzes must be 5.5 or higher.

Inspection and feedback
How and when an exam review will take place will be disclosed together with the publication of the exam results at the latest. If a student requests a review within 30 days after publication of the exam results, an exam review will have to be organized.
