Admission requirements

Entry requirements for students in the BA Midden-Oostenstudies:
Propedeutic exam and 15 EC trackspecific courses (BA 2/1st semester)

Description

This course trains students in writing skills in Modern Standard Arabic. Students will practice with various types of correspondence and translate from English into Arabic. Particular attention will be paid to the correct use of so-called connectors, connecting words that make it possible to form more complex sentences.

Assessment

Classroom participation and homework assignments (20%)
Midterm exam (20%)
Final exam (60%)

Weighing

The final mark for the course is established by determining the weighted average.

Resit

If the final grade is 5.5 or less students may take a resit once (100%).

Inspection and feedback

How and when an exam review will take place will be disclosed together with the publication of the exam results at the latest. If a student requests a review within 30 days after publication of the exam results, an exam review will have to be organized.
