Admission requirements
This thesis seminar is for (third-year) students who are working on their BA Linguistics thesis (track Language and Cognition).
Description
The seminar consists of three sessions. During these three sessions, students will be given information about the content and style of the BA thesis, students will give short presentations about the progress they have made, and they will receive feedback on their progress. A thesis manual will be made available on Brightspace that will support the student in writing the BA-thesis. Participation in the seminar is a mandatory part of the 10 EC BA thesis
Course objectives
The Thesis Seminar has two main objectives:
1. Informing students about the content and style of the BA-thesis
2. Supporting students in the BA writing process
The seminar consists of three sessions. During these three sessions, students will be given information about the content and style of the BA thesis, students will give short presentations about the progress they have made, and they will receive feedback on their progress. During each session, the student is expected to have progressed with writing the BA thesis.
During the first session, the BA thesis manual will be explained and the student is expected to have written (a draft version of-) the Introduction, including a specific (testable) research question. During the second session, the student is expected to have written (a draft version of-) the Introduction and Methods section. During the last session, the student is expected to have written a draft version of the Discussion.
