In addition to internal criteria for the opening and processing of archives there are also external criteria, such as the circumstances of the find, the building in which the texts were located, the function of the room, and the like. This course covers a combination of internal and external criteria. Thought is also given to the reconstruction of one or more archives that are the subject of examination. In addition to prosopographic and socio-economic aspects, the material culture is also of importance to the context in which the central figures have lived. During this seminar, students with an interest in archaeology can place the emphasis on the archaeological aspect of the archive.
