Admission requirements

Admission to this course is restricted to MA students in Philosophy of a Specific Discipline, specialisation Natural Science, who have completed course Philosophy of Natural Science I).

Description

An advanced course in foundations and methodology of the natural sciences. The course will treat a number of specialist themes in the philosophy of physics and/or biology, depending on the participants’ interests. Sample themes: analysis of empirical data in physical sciences, philosophy of cosmology, the species problem, foundations of evolutionary theory. Further details available on request from the lecturer.
