Course
2011-2012

Description

This seminar aims to achieve two things: firstly, it offers a systematic reading of Kant’s Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals and discusses its take on issues of moral normativity, practical reason, and autonomy.

Secondly, we will see how Kantian themes and arguments resonate in contemporary discussions in practical philosophy and take a look at authors as diverse as John Rawls and Jürgen Habermas, Christine Korsgaard and David Velleman, Stephen Darwall, Thomas Scanlon and Michael Smith.
