Description
The purpose of this course is to provide students with a deeper understanding of a broad range of theoretical and practical aspects of survey methodology. Among the topics that will be discussed are setting up a survey, designing a questionnaire, selecting a sampling design, estimation procedures, modes of data collection, quality issues, the nonresponse problem, and correction for nonresponse. Special attention is paid to web surveys. The course consists of lectures, homework exercises and an analysis of a survey data set with SPSS.
Examination
Students will provide answers to exercises and a written report of their nonresponse analysis of the survey data set. The final assessment will be based on the results of the exercises, the nonresponse analysis, and participation.
