Description
This course examines the development of Heidegger’s question to the meaning of Being from the famous and influential Sein und Zeit to Zeit und Sein. This means that we will first focus on Heidegger’s understanding of the question of time, the influence of Husserlian phenomenology and the notions of inauthenticity and authenticity. Close attention will be given to Heidegger’s understanding of the history of philosophy and the necessity for its ‘destruction.’ These topics will give us a profound understanding of Dasein and the ontological difference. We will then be capable of comprehending the radical turn (Kehre) in Heidegger’s thought. This will lead us to an understanding of the ‘Ereignis’ and the task of thinking.
