Completion of the course Irish for Beginners 1. If necessary, knowledge of Irish acquired by other means can be evaluated on the basis of an oral entrance examination.
Description
This course will complete the knowledge of Irish syntax acquired in the first semester course. This knowledge, including the more complex aspects, will also be put into practice by reading a simple Modern Irish text.
Course objectives
Full knowledge of and insight into every aspect of Modern Irish syntax, and a vocabulary of about 1,200 words. Completion of this course will enable students to read simple texts in Irish by themselves, and to continue their study of this language independently.

Assessment method
Active participation in class and a written translation test (Irish into English or Dutch) with the help of a dictionary will contribute for 50% each to the final mark. Both can be retaken if insufficient.
