Description
This course is a follow-up to the course ‘Indo-European Phonology’ (taught in the first semester). In it, the reconstruction of the Proto-Indo-European morphology will be taught. With the use of many examples it will be shown how on the basis of the evidence from all ancient Indo-European languages the original form of nominal and verbal paradigms can be determined. The most important inflextion and conjugation types of the Proto-Indo-European grammar will be treated, as well as the traces these have left in the individual daughter languages.
