Description
Course contents: Sequence databases; Sequence alignment (pairwise, multiple, database similarity search); Sequence motif recognition; Genome annotation; Genome sequence analysis; Single-nucleotide polymorhism (SNP) analysis.
Course objectives
Gain an understanding of the fundamental principles of sequence bioinformatics and experience in using sequence bioinformatics tools and resources.
Mode of instruction
Lectures, assignments.
Assessment method
Written examination (80%) and assignments (20%).
