Exchange students are allowed to follow this class if they have sufficient knowledge of Sanskrit.
Description
During the course we will be reading the hymns from the Rigveda using the book by A.A. Macdonell, A Vedic reader for students (Oxford UP, many reprints).
Course objectives
deeper knowledge of Vedic grammar and its Indo-European origins
ability to read hymns from the Rigveda with the help of a dictionary
knowledge of the Vedic metre and how to use it for Indo-European reconstruction

How and when an exam review will take place will be disclosed together with the publication of the exam results at the latest. If a student requests a review within 30 days after publication of the exam results, an exam review will have to be organized.

The former contains the texts, comments and a small dictionary. The latter is a reference grammar.
