Admission requirements
3rd year bachelor students
Description
This course will provide students with an interactive introduction to the theory and practice of innovation management and entrepreneurship in a European context. The module approaches innovation as a core business imperative and appropriate management as an essential element to business success. The course will be of interest to those who are considering forming their own business or who envisage having a role promoting new initiatives within existing organisations.
It introduces strategies to assess the potential of new business concepts and thus improve the likely success of high-impact ventures.
It covers methods for analysing, specifying, designing and launching high-impact initiatives along with the knowledge and skills required to prepare a financial plan for a new business venture.
This course is divided into three modules:
Module 1 concerns the groupwork-based experience of the entrepreneurial journey via building a venture from scratch in all of its relevant aspects. This module spans the duration of the whole course (until January).
Module 2 concerns the lectures, case workshops and coaching sessions that provide the theoretical and methodological underpinnings of entrepreneurship as a discipline, supporting the entrepreneurial journey of students. This module spans the first part of the course (sessions 1-5).
Module 3 concerns the financing aspects of entrepreneurial ideas and it forms 50% of your final grade. Dr. Luis Pereiro is responsible for that module (sessions 6 and 7) and you will receive a separate course syllabus for the topics and expectations of that module
