Description
This course teaches the basics of programming in Python. In addition to syntax of Python, it also introduced you to the core concepts of programming: sequence, repetition, selection, typing and functions. Finally it explains how to use a modern IDE (Interactive development environment) to program.
Course objectives
Knowing basic syntax of Python
Understanding and applying the core concepts of programming: sequence, repetition, selection, typing and functions
Using an IDE for debugging and basic refactoring

Mode of instruction
Lectures 2 hours, lab sessions 2 hours
Assessment method
Exam (75% of grade)
Programming assignments (25% of grade)
Both parts need to be >5.5 to be able to pass the course
The teacher will inform the students how the inspection of and follow-up discussion of the exams will take place.
