This course is only accessible for BA Japanstudies students. Students must have successfully completed the course Applied linguistics Ib: Kanji.
Kanji IIa is designed to help students increase their kanji fluency through the lecture and practices. The aim of this course is not simply to have students memorize each kanji; it is also to help them learn how to study kanji effectively and to provide them with the kanji knowledge and learning strategies required to continue their studies at the advanced level. In addition to the required textbook which will help students acquire study skills and knowledge as they memorize each individual meaning, form, and readings of kanji, the online learning platform (“ReminDo” ) and the supporting materials provided by the instructor will be used to solidify recognition of the kanji to be dealt with in this course.
The goal of this course is to review 400 kanji introducted in BA1 and learn 180 new kanji in “Jokyu e no Tobira”, with focusing on the characters and vocabulary that appear at JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) N2 level. This course will cover Lesson 1 through 5 of the “Tobira” (Kanji) textbook.
