Admission requirements
The mentoring sessions are a compulsory part of the first year (propaedeuse) in English Language and Culture.
Description
The first-year BA English mentor programme consists of various types of meetings, the focus of which will be to offer guidance in effective study. The topics covered include the following:
- Practical information on the degree programme 
- Etiquette 
- Effective study and exam preparation 
- Introduction and usage of different facilities (University Library, Brightspace, uSis, MyStudyMap) 
- Giving constructive feedback 
- Avoiding plagiarism and fraud 
- Job market 
 All full-time BA students of English must attend the scheduled mentor meetings.
Course objectives
This is not an academic course for credits, but an activity offering students guidance in their studies; as such there are no specific objectives beyond giving guidance.

Mode of instruction
Study supervision in one-hour seminars.
The staff mentors will hold specific office hours for first-year students in the first semester; in the second semester first-year students can make an appointment via email with the staff mentors to discuss anything related to their studies.
