Description
This course gives an in-depth confrontation with various models dealing with the evolution of the human niche, with a heavy emphasis on studies of Neandertal energetics, life histories and hunting difficulties, and application of these to the Neandertal fossil and archaeological record encountered in the Palaeolithic Europe: An introduction course.
Learning outcomes
Obtaining knowledge of various models dealing with the development of the human niche;
Ability to give a critical analysis of competing models;
Improvement of presentation skills, both oral and in writing.
