Biblical Hebrew 3

Course
2022-2023

Description

In this course, we will engage more deeply with the grammar of Classical Hebrew; we will do this by analysing selected texts for their grammatical features as well as by writing some texts in Classical Hebrew ourselves (both through translation and through composition from scratch)

Course objectives

Students who have completed this course will deepen their understanding of the historical layering of the grammar of Classical Hebrew as well as grasped some of the challenges that authors of later biblical texts were facing when they were trying to emulate the styles of earlier texts.
