Research Internship Psychology

Course
2008-2009

Research internship

Coordinator

Internship coordinator of the track.

Objective(s)

In the internship, students learn to apply their knowledge, understanding and problem solving abilities in a new and unfamiliar task environment within a broader (or multi-disciplinary) context related to their field of specialisation. They learn to integrate knowledge and handle complexity by formulating judgements with incomplete or limited information. These judgements should reflect social and ethical responsibilities. The internship may also provide an opportunity to learn how to communicate their judgements (and the knowledge and rationale underpinning these judgements) clearly and unambiguously to specialist and non-specialist audiences.

Study material

No additional study material.

Examination

Evaluation by staff member of the institute where the internship has taken place and the internal departmental supervisor. The evaluation is based on a set of evaluation criteria specific for the specialisation of the student.

Methods of instruction

Training under daily supervision of a qualified staff member in an institute for (mental) health care, a professional organisation, a research organisation or another organisations which employs psychologists. Supervision by staff from the university.
