Description
This course examines various concepts, principles, and theories at the heart of the relationship between media and politics by putting the former into practice. That is, students will engage with the course material by themselves undertaking citizen journalism and reporting on an issue or event that is politically relevant.
Course objectives
By the end of the course students should:
Develop a better understanding of the ways in which media and politics interact in democratic societies.
Be better able to evaluate the quality of media reporting.

Citizen journalism reporting project: a news report presented in both text and video formats and distributed via digital platforms
