In the minor Ethics, Politics and Culture: Philosophy and the Challenges of Our Time, we question the ideals and ideas that underlie our modern views on how we should live together. Many of these ideals and ideas are currently under pressure.
What is good about democracy? What does a just society look like? What can we expect from each other and what can we not expect from each other? When do we lead a good life?
The minor Ethics, Politics and Culture: Philosophy and the Challenges of Our Time offers you the opportunity to really delve into these kinds of questions. You will become extensively acquainted with the most important classical and contemporary answers to these questions and with the critical philosophical discussions about them.
We will consider the most influential ethical and political principles, theories and arguments about how we should live together. In addition, we will discuss the influence of our modern culture on these principles, theories and arguments, and the human images that underlie these views.
