Master's Kick Off

At this day (28 August 2025 for students starting in September and 29 January 2026 for students starting in February) your attendance is strongly advised.

During the Master's Kick Off you will be handed important information on how to organise your studies at Leiden University. The coordinator of your specialisation will be present. You do not want to miss this!

You can find the event page of the Master's Kick Off on the right-hand side of this page.

Electives

Electives taken as part of the Master's programma Psychology need to be at level 500. Students take one or more electives (depending on their specialisation) in order to meet the diploma requirements. In principle, students choose from the list of (recommended) electives offered within Psychology (see list below). These courses are already approved as part of the programme. If students wish to include an elective outside of Psychology, prior approval from the Board of Examiners is needed.

Please note that some electives in Psychology can be followed by students of certain specialisations only. If that is the case, this is stated in the section ‘Entry requirements'.
