This course presents the common basic theory and methods for phylogenetic analysis. Topics treated include basic concepts, homology, homoplasy, parsimony, character coding, phylogenetic algorithms, tree evaluation and branch supports, applied to morphological and molecular data. Computer programs will be demonstrated and used by the participants to practice various topics
