Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology

The pre-master's programme has been designed to help the individual student achieve the requirements for admission in the MSc in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology of Leiden University.

Admission to the pre-master’s programme is selective. You will be required to complete a pre-master's programme if our Admissions Board decides that you lack appropriate knowledge to get direct admission to our master programme. This decision is made after careful evaluation of your diplomas and academic portfolio, proof of proficiency in English, and affinity to the subject of the master’s programme. A pre-master's programme is tailor-made, for each applicant individually, by our Admissions Board.

This is the overview of all the courses offered within the pre-master programme in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology (CA-DS). Since each pre-master packeage is individualley composed, the pre-master students follow different courses. The size of different pre-master programmes can vary.

It is only possible to enroll for the pre-master CA-DS in Leiden after being conditionally admitted to the MSc programme in CA-DS.

Please note that most courses that are part of the pre-master are taught in Dutch only for the academic year 2018-2019, because they are all a part of the BSc programme in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology.

Application for the master CA-DS, including the specializations, can be done through the website https://www.universiteitleiden.nl/en/education/study-programmes/master/cultural-anthropology-and-development-sociology/admission-and-application.
