Sustainable Health and Care

Disclaimer

At the moment, we are still working on the final information for this new interdisciplinary minor. This means that some texts may still change in the coming weeks.

Introduction

During the interdisciplinary minor Sustainable Health and Care you’ll learn to approach the concept of ‘One Health’ from different angles, such as sustainability, health and health care, and population health management. Which populations are at the greatest risk of poor health? How do you plan interventions according to their needs? And how do you reduce health disparities between populations by reshaping the health and care system? All students with an interest in sustainability, health and systems thinking are encouraged to participate in this minor.

You’ll form a view on the development of (population) health management and sustainability and you’ll be equipped to critically analyze the subject matter from a societal, statistical, legal, and medical perspective. This allows you to understand health beyond the clinic, explore health governance, investigate the right to health, and study health from a cultural, societal and political dimension. This broad perspective and multidisciplinary approach provides you with a strong foundation to tackle complex health issues in our society.
