Linguistics: Language and Communication
This is a specialisation within the MA Linguistics
The specialisation consists of four 10 EC courses or equivalent and the MA thesis (20 EC)
Students take four 10 EC courses (or equivalent), as follows:
Course 1: Pragmatiek en Grammatica: De Sturende Kracht van Taal or Pragmatics and Grammar: Language as a Tool for Social Influence
Courses 2 and 3: Any other two courses from the list below.
Course 4: Any course offered within the MA Linguistics (including the list below), a course on a linguistic subject taught in another MA (subject to approval by the Board of Examiners).
The specialisation has 3 optional tracks, listed below. Students who choose to do one of these tracks do Course 1 above, while Courses 2-3 must be drawn from the other courses from the track. Course 4 can be any course offered within the MA Linguistics. The courses which can be followed within each track can be found under the appropriate tab.
