Religion in a Changing World

Religion is everywhere. Knowledge of religion is essential for anyone who wants to understand the world. If you are fascinated by the diversity of religions, their development through history and their meaning today ā€“ both in peopleā€™s personal lives and in society -, the minor Religion in a Changing World is the right choice as a supplement to your major. The minor includes the selection of two courses on specific religious traditions (Christianity, Islam, Judaism Hinduism, Buddhism, religions of antiquity, new religious movements). Additionally a cluster of introductory courses on the various disciplines involved in the study of religion will be offered, e.g. the comparative, social, anthropological, and psychological approaches. This minor will acquaint students with the tools essential for studying, interpreting and analyzing religion as a (human) phenomenon.
